State Senator George Latimer will be making his way up to Peekskill from Rye Saturday afternoon to officially announce his support for Common Council candidates Vanessa Agudelo, Colin Smith and Ramon Fernandez, ahead of Tuesday’s Democratic primary.
Latimer, who himself will be competing in the Sept. 12 primary against County Legislator Ken Jenkins for the Democratic nod to take on County Executive Rob Astorino in the fall, says he believes strongly in the values of the slate’s positive agenda for “One” Peekskill, which focuses on community building, affordable housing, direct action and improving quality of life in Peekskill.
“Local government is closest to the people and this slate’s positive agenda will position Peekskill to lead Westchester as a progressive and visionary city that denounces the harsh, partisan politics and anti-family tactics of the Trump ideology,” he said in a press release.
