The Peekskill NAACP Civic Engagement Committee is committed to bringing more voters to the booth this election season, and, to that end, is holding a voter registration drive from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at 1106 Main Street in Peekskill (corner of North James Street and Main Street). Event is sponsored by Environmental Engineering Solutions, PC and Division Street Grill.
The Peekskill Farmers’ Market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday on Bank Street.
Lincoln Depot Fall Lecture Series
The Lincoln Depot Museum is pleased to continue our Fall Lecture Series with noted scholar and author Jay Jorgensen. “Presidential Visits at Gettysburg” begins with an in-depth look at Lincoln’s visit and the newspaper coverage around the nation. Jorgensen will conclude with a discussion on a number of the more interesting visits to Gettysburg by various post-Civil War presidents. Jorgensen will also have copies of his books for sale at the event. Doors open at 1 p.m. with presentation beginning at 1:30 p.m. Admission is $10 per person and free for members. Ninth annual Hudson Valley Irish Fest
The ninth annual Hudson Valley Irish Fest will take place on the majestic banks of the Hudson River at Peekskill’s Riverfront Green Park to celebrate the positive values of the rich Irish-American culture and heritage alive in the Hudson Valley today. The fest, which goes from 11 a.m. to 7p.m., features great bands, excellent vendors and exhibitors, a children’s area featuring 18th century toys and games, and more! Grand Opening at Sweet Ascent
Sweet Ascent candy shop, located on the first floor of 900 Main St. in Peekskill, is holding a grand opening ribbon cutting at noon on Saturday.
Dancing Bingo for Puerto Rico
Saturday night’s Dancing Bingo for Puerto Rico is a fundraising event to benefit vulnerable families and individuals facing uncertainty in Puerto Rico following the recent hurricanes. The goal is to “pay it forward,” and all contributions will be rushed directly to those who need it most.
