It is with great joy and anticipation that the Mount Olivet Baptist Church (MOBC) cordially invites you to the second anniversary celebration of our pastor, Rev. Dr. Robert E. Young. The scripture that undergirds this year’s pastoral celebration can be found in Ephesians 3:20, which reads “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Thus, the theme for Pastor Young’s second anniversary is “Growing in Greatness Together.” God is truly doing great things at Mount Olivet!

In his second year, Rev. Young continues to be a vibrant Pastor and a vital part of the Peekskill community. His Project Strength initiative has allowed the church to pay off the Summit mortgage and begin building an emergency reserve fund. While he works to continuously increase church membership, he also keeps our youth engaged via Fun Nights, Children’s Church and Vacation Bible School. And we are so excited about the recent creation of the Mount Olivet Growth Academy! As he continues to make Mount Olivet greater by developing the ministerial and teaching staff, re-establishing our Young Adult Ministry and having weekly Soup and Study, Pastor Young also persists in impacting the Peekskill Community. He remains vice president of Peekskill Area Pastors’ Association and chaplain for our Peekskill Police force, and also participates in the Peekskill NAACP. Rev. Young has established Mount Olivet as the host of the annual Juneteenth worship service, and as a way to regularly give back to the community, MOBC hosted its second annual Back-to-School community event where backpacks and school supplies are provided to all who need them.

Celebration services are as follows:
• 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12: Evening worship service featuring Rev. Dr. Vernon Shelton, senior pastor of Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Amityville.
• 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 17: Morning worship service with Rev. Jesse E. Young, senior pastor of Silas First Baptist Missionary Church in Severna Park, Maryland.

Rev. Young emphasizes servant discipleship and encourages the Mount Olivet family to serve and grow stronger and greater together. We sincerely hope you will join us in honoring this man of God as we heartily celebrate Pastor Young’s second anniversary.
