Former New York State governor and Peekskill mayor George Pataki addressed Peekskill Republicans Tuesday night at at The Quiet Man and said that local Republicans are not just falling in Peekskill, but that the so-called “Trump effect” has taken out county executive Rob Astorino as well.

Showing just how fickle politics can be, it was the anti-Obama Tea Party wave that helped usher Astorino into office in 2009. State Sen. George Latimer, a Democrat, will take over as Westchester county executive in January.
