According to the posted agenda for a special May 25 Peekskill City School District Board of Education meeting, Athletic Director Lou Panzanaro will be retiring, effective July 1.
The lone item under the Consent Agenda reads as follows:
Subject: Peekskill Administrator’s Association Retirement Incentive
Type: Action (Consent)
Recommended Action: WHEREAS, the Peekskill City School District and the Peekskill Administrator’s Association came to an agreement on specific terms and conditions for an amendment of the collective bargaining agreement to include a retirement incentive program for full-time administrators (Athletic Director) in the District who choose to retire with an effective date of July 1, 2017 and who submit to the District an irrevocable letter of resignation for the purpose of retirement no later than May 30, 2017;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Memorandum of Agreement dated May 25, 2017 be accepted and approved by the Board of Education.
Prior to becoming athletic director, Panzanaro was a legendary high school basketball coach, leading Peekskill to an amazing five state titles on the way to becoming Section One’s all-time leader in wins.
The meeting—to be held at the administration building, located at 1031 Elm Street—is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., with the board going into executive session at approximately 5:15 p.m.
