Detective Matthew Basso of the Peekskill Police Department and members of the Westchester County Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence of 610 Highland Ave. in Peekskill Friday morning, resulting in the seizure of over 400 glassines of heroin and the arrest of Jose Raymond, 48, of Peekskill, according to Lt. John White.

Raymond, who lives in a first floor apartment, is being held pending arraignment in Peekskill City Court on two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third-degree, which is a Class B felony. According to state law, a person can be charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree when he knowingly and unlawfully possesses a narcotic drug with intent to sell it.

The Northern Westchester Task Force is comprised of officers from several local agencies within Westchester County. Assisting in the search warrant execution were police officers from Croton, Yorktown, Port Chester  and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.
