In an effort to protect the victim, Peekskill police are not releasing details of a case in which a resident was arrested and charged with forcible touching last week. According to the police report, Jose A. Madrid, 38, of 622 Harrison Ave., Apt. 3, was arrested at his home Dec. 4.
“This is a misdemeanor,” said Peekskill Chief of Police Eric Johansen. “In an effort to protect the victim, I’m not releasing any additional information.”
Madrid’s legal status is unclear at this time. Peekskill police inform Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) when they have arrested an individual born outside of the U.S. It is then up to ICE to determine the suspect’s legal status in the country.
