Peekskill Water Department Superintendent David Rambo told The Peekskill Post Thursday afternoon that the water main break affecting “high service areas east of North Broad Street” in Peekskill should be repaired shortly.

“I would say another hour or two,” Rambo said shortly before 4 p.m. “I am telling people who have discolored water to run cold water and to avoid doing laundry tonight.”

Rambo said the affected pipe runs from the water plant to a storage tank, and the cause of the break is not yet known. He added that water pressure in Peekskill does not seem to have been affected.
