The video, posted Nov. 2, has garnered nearly 1 million views on YouTube.

On Monday of this week, multiple people contacted The Peekskill Post about a political discussion that appeared to take place between a Peekskill High School student and a teacher in a 12th grade creative writing class. The conversation—which was recorded by the student’s friend and posted on YouTube—touches on hot-button subjects such as race and Islamic terrorism, with the student taking a conservative position and the teacher taking on a liberal position. During the back and forth, the teacher declares that the FBI is seeded in white supremacy and, in a truly bizarre statement, that she is smarter than the dictionary.

Upon learning the email address of the student, whose first name is Diego, The Peekskill Post asked him if he would be willing to talk about the video. He did not reply, but in interviews given to conservative news organizations, he stated that he wanted to remain anonymous and would not even mention the name of the school, for fear the district would take the video down.

The reason for our delay in posting the story is that it took some time to confirm from multiple sources that Diego was indeed a PHS student.

Diego, who goes by the name KidGadsden online, wrote the following on YouTube:

“She was talking loudly about Trump and I am one of the few right-wingers in my school. So she asked me why I supported him seeing as how I am Latino, and he hates us. I responded saying that he doesn’t hate Latinos, he just wants to remove illegals from the US. It then shifted to how there is a war on blacks and other minorities because of cop killings, and stated that the FBI statistics I was using were skewered because it was seeded on white supremacy.

It finally shifted to where she said how when its a Muslim attack, its labelled terrorism, but Vegas was not since he was white. I told her that so far, unless something turns up, we have not found any political or religious aims, and therefore it cannot be viewed as a terrorist incident because the definition of terrorism states violence in the pursuit of political aim (((anti-fa))). At that point, she claimed multiple times the dictionary was wrong and that she knew more than it.”

The Peekskill City School District is looking into the matter.
